The deity is also known as Dharmasthala Manjunatha swamy. The town of temples is well known for its annual festival Lakshadeepa, the fetival of lights celebrated on a grand note in the month of november-december with more than 10,000 people participating the celebrations.

Dharmathala is a place of religious tolerance and people come here to seek justice.

Rebuilt in the South Indian style of architecture , the Sringeri temple was established by Acharya Sri Shankara Bhagavatpada. Devoted to the Goddess Sharadamba the temple features multiple stone pillars with carvings of various Goddesses.
